Exams! They're Here!

Aaaaargh!!! This week has been very unfair (I think most people would agree, especially Jonas). The examinations have been pushed forward, which means I don't have much time left to study (then why the heck am I still blogging?). Well, the most important thing is they're gonna be here, eventually. The second exams, I think will be the most highly anticipated by everyone, as they're the real indicators of how well you're going to score in the real thing ( this is due to the fact that it will follow the real thing in every way, except for less chapters to be revised).
Well, all I can say is, good luck to all the guys (and the girls) and do your best. I think now would be the perfect time to stop being so competitive (a.k.a kiasu), and start helping each other out, cos what matters in the end is not what position you get in class but the overall result. Besides, if you help others , they'll succeed as well, and success tastes best when you share (who you choose to help, however, is entirely to your own discretion).
Anyways, I've got a thousand things to study, and I've this senamrobik thing tomorrow. Ciao!

All The Friends That I Have

Its been one week since school reopens. Donkey's right. Its been the same thing like all over again like, "Holidays are boring" and "I've got no time to study during the holidays". Well, time to catch up with old friends. Well, after the week is over, I can conclude that although my friends are varied and many, I can basically put them this way.

The Best Friend

This type of friend is easy to lose, and yet so hard to find. They're the ones who always listens to your problems and tells you that there is always a solution to everything. They never get tired of listening and even if they do, they will find a way to tell you. They help you in a variety of ways and yes, they enjoy seeing you happy. Well, not many people can fit this description anymore nowadays. Sigh...

The Casual Friend (a.k.a. Friend)

On the contrary, many people can fit in this category. They're the type of people who you see every day in school, the one that you meet in club meetings etc. You don't exactly tell them what your problem is but you do joke with them and hang out with them.

The Intellectual Friend

This type of friend is the smart one. You always go to this friend whenever you needed to answer a question or to 'borrow' his homework. They're the ones that always help you to solve a quadratic equation or the ones who knows the definition of spermatogenesis. (Ehem!).

The Wise Friend

This type of friend differs from the previous one because of their ability to answer most of your curiosities about life. Be it on the opposite sex, this and that and stuff. They usually have experience with this type of thing, which explains their ability to answer your questions in the first place.

The Take It Easy Friend

This friend can lighten your problems, but not necessarily make it go away. They have a happy outlook on life and tend to take things not too seriously, but that doesn't mean they can't be serious. They help put all your problems into perspective and sometimes they're taking things too easily that you just want to throttle them!

The Equal Friend

This type of friend is kind of rare in itself but it's weird. This friend is equal because he shares your opinions on the same thing. He can buck up your ego and strengthen your belief about an idea or he can also defend you during an argument.

The Weird Friend

This friend is like a painting by Van Gogh. He is unpredictable and sometimes, just plain weird, with a capital W to boot. He has different views on things that people usually have the same view about. He likes to argue and is usually talkative. Well, sometimes his opinions can also be too outrageous.

And last, but certainly not least..... (drumroll)

The B****** That Calls Himself A Friend

This type of friend is dangerous. They are masters of deception and disguise. They smile at your face but spit on you afterwards. As donkey puts it, they knife you, and runs away laughing about it. They don't give a f*** about you and they like it that way. There are a lot of them out there nowadays, you just don't know who...

My friends all fit into this category. All of them are a mixture of more than one of this type. So, which one are you?

Who's Aurelia?

During Add Maths tuition class today, I was completely stupefied/ dumbfounded/ aghast/ by a statement made by one of my classmates. It started when our teacher, Mdm. Liew asked us a Trigonometry question. Since Aurelia is the first one to get the answer, she told teacher about it. Now, our teacher has this habit of writing down suggested answers on the whiteboard, along with the name of the person who suggested it and asks the whole class whether we agree to the person's answer. In this case, "Who agrees to Aurelia's answer?" Several nodded in agreement while others say it out. It was in that moment I heard this somewhere from a seat behind me:

Who's Aurelia?

Normally I wouldn't pay attention to this kind of thing, you know and dismiss as a lame joke. A few moments later came this:

Really, what. Who is she?

By now the whole class started laughing, the teacher included. I teased Aurelia about it the whole day. But then again, she seems to take this insult to her self- identity in stride. Way to go. Well ,anonymity can really do anyone some good at times.

Scared Myself Silly

I've been watching too many horror/ suspense/ thriller/ movies recently. Well, aside from giving me an adrenaline rush to kill my boredom, I also ended up scaring myself silly. Take this morning for example, I just watched this movie 'When A Stranger Calls' on Star Movies. Its about a popular urban legend where a babysitter gets a phone call from a mysterious stranger when she's babysitting two kids. She's in a huge house and it was a stormy night (kinda cliched don't you think?) All in all, it was a good movie, actually. Instead of using the ghost with the long hair approach, they rely heavily on technicality such as music, lighting and the angle of the camera to make it work, so its a horror movie minus the 'ick' factor.

There are other horror movies of course, but I would rather not talk about it due to its awesome 'ickiness' or stupidity. On a totally unrelated note, I found that Kenny Rogers is one hell of a restaurant. Caution: Do not even step foot inside unless you are completely famished (with a pocketful of money). Its one of the best meals I've had so far.

And another thing, horror movie characters seem to share one thing in common: It seems that they do not know how to pray to God to save themselves. Good night. Sleep tight.

Ah, Love Is...

Ah, today is all about love. I don't know why but I feel particularly smitten about love today. Well, its probably because I have just read the biography of Sir Edward Elgar today. For those in the dark, he is a very well- known British composer, whose great works include the five 'Pomp and Circumstance' marches. Do you know that he composed two pieces for his wife just to show how much he loves her?

Well, here are some timeless quotes about love. They are all personal favourites of mine:

(a) He who love touches walk not in darkness.
Plato

(b) To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with.
Mark Twain

(c) Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love.
Albert Einstein

(d) No, this trick won't work. How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon such as first love?
Albert Einstein

(e) My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me.
Winston Churchill

Ah, I know it seems very cliched but I just realized something today. As we never know when we will die, we might as well do something to make our life worthwhile. I mean, what's the use of hating someone? We certainly won't get anything good in return now are we? On a totally unrelated note, I'm going to Kenny Rogers for lunch tomorrow. Muahaha.
